Legarza was founded in 1989 and since then has been a staple of youth basketball in the Bay Area. From summer camps to Elite Basketball, we provide an unparalleled experience for youth athletes to not only improve as basketball players, but more importantly as a future leaders. 

Our full time coaches that all have experience on the AAU Circuit, Coaching College/High School Basketball and decades of playing experience. These coaches provide their invaluable insight into the game of basketball in order to set each team up for success now and in the future. 

 Legarza Elite will provide high-level training and elite coaching to young athletes through positive encouragement and skill development to perform at a competitive level. Our program focuses on the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and family as well as character development on and off the court.  

We as a team are driven to provide the best experience possible for each of your children. Our full time staff have an extensive background in AAU basketball — we have coaches that have not only played college basketball but coached college basketball. We are confident that we will be able to provide top quality full time coaches for our Elite program.

AAU Operations - South Bay

Tyler has over 10 years of experience playing and working in the AAU Circuit including 3 years traveling with the Under Armour Association. Tyler worked for Temple University Men's Basketball for 4 years before moving to California in 2019 to work for Legarza full time as a basketball coach/director

Peninsula Coach - 7th/8th

Marquis is a Bay Area native who won PAL South MVP honors his senior season at Mills High School. Marquis went on to work as a practice assistant for San Diego State Women's Basketball. From there he played club basketball in Marseille, France. Most Recently Marquis was an assistant coach for Mills Varsity Basketball.

Drew Reid

Drew.png

Coach - 5th/6th

Drew, a Long Beach native, comes with experience working in various sports organizations including the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Clippers. He helped those organizations become more involved in their local communities, particularly with youth in sport. Drew played basketball at a high level throughout college, shaping his excitement to bring the same level of dedication to the next generation.

Peninsula Coach - 3rd/4th

Coach Justin was the captain of his state championship basketball team during his time at Serra Highschool and won scout team Rookie of the Year for Oregon State Women's Basketball. Justin has been coaching basketball since 2014 and most recently the Assistant Coach for Mills Girls Varsity Basketball.
